Conservation Framing involves the use of techniques and methods of mounting and framing artwork so that it is totally reversible and can be removed without damage if ever needed. Items to consider conservation framing would be historical documents, limited edition art prints and family heirlooms.
In this example the mat was hinged to the top of the acid free foam core. With the art centered in the opening, Mylar corners are used to keep the art from moving.
